2010 Legislative and Financial Information
In this section Charlotte County Public Schools will provide facts and information regarding the 2010 Legislative session and finances for the upcoming school year.
The Legislature completed its session April 30, 2010 and the following information shows the timeline of their decision making. Additionally, local budget information will be posted as the summer progresses.

The following link shows the initial Florida House of Representatives finance run for Florida School Districts as of March 24, 2010. Further House and Senate updates will appear as they are published. This initial run shows a reduction of a little less than $2.9 million dollars for CCPS. The Legislature completed its work on Friday, April 30. The link below summarizes the final school district funding appropriations and how it affects all Florida School districts. Charlotte did lose an additional $2.1 million dollars for the coming year.

The following information shows the essential components of the 2010-2011 budget for our school district as presented to the school board on June 2, 2010. With this budget, the superintendent and board are able to maintain most of the the district's excellent programs and employees for 2010-2011. Information regarding the 2011-2012 budget outlook is also presented and, if conditions remain as they currently exist, the negative impact to employees could be significant.
